Planning Umrah is a special journey, and choosing the right hotel is an important part of it. Unfortunately, fake hotel listings and misleading offers can make the experience stressful for pilgrims.
Some listings may use attractive photos, unusually low prices or claims of being very close to Masjid al-Haram. Before making any payment, it is important to verify the hotel and booking details carefully.
Here are some simple ways to protect yourself when booking accommodation in Makkah.
“Near Haram” likha hona enough nahi hai.
Before booking, check the hotel’s exact location and walking route to Masjid al-Haram. This is especially important for families, elderly pilgrims and travellers who may prefer convenient access.
Always ask for the exact hotel address or map location before confirming your booking.
Professional-looking hotel photos can sometimes create the wrong impression.
Compare the hotel’s photographs and information from reliable sources. Check the exterior, rooms, reception and surrounding area where possible.
If the photos and information seem inconsistent, ask for clarification before making payment.
Be cautious if someone is constantly telling you:
“Pay now!”
“Only one room left!”
“Offer expires today!”
You should have enough time to verify the hotel, payment details and booking confirmation before transferring money.
A genuine booking should provide clear information about what you are paying for.
Before travelling, make sure your booking confirmation clearly includes:
Keep your booking documents safely on your phone and, where possible, as a backup copy.
Your hotel plays an important role in making your Umrah journey comfortable and organised. Instead of choosing accommodation based only on price or attractive photographs, take time to verify the hotel, location and booking details.
At Haram Travels, we assist pilgrims with accommodation, Umrah packages, flights, visa processing and other travel arrangements to help make their journey smoother.
